Importing packaged goods into the EU? PPWR makes the paperwork yours too.
From 12 August 2026, importers must keep a copy of the EU declaration of conformity for the packaging they place on the market, and must be able to make the technical documentation available. PPWR Copilot helps you collect, organise and keep that evidence.

Your duties as an importer
Three obligations sit with you once the goods reach the EU market.
Check the declaration exists.
Before you import, the manufacturer must have drawn up an EU declaration of conformity following Annex VIII.
(Regulation (EU) 2025/40, Articles 18 and 39)
Keep your copy.
Importers keep a copy of the EU declaration of conformity for five years for single use packaging and ten years for reusable packaging from placement on the market.
(Article 18(7))
Be ready to show the file.
Market surveillance authorities can ask for the technical documentation; importers must ensure it can be made available.
(Article 18(7) and Annex VII)
